Desert Party  , a grade/group winner in the United States and Dubai, was represented by his first winner as a stallion when his 2-year-old son, Unlashthekraken, broke his maiden in Rome, Italy, May 6.

Unlashthekraken, Desert Party's first starter, won the six-furlong grass event in his career debut over Bridge Eros. Bred in Kentucky by Az. Ag. Le Ferriere di Giampaolo Raponi, Unlashthekracken is out of the Royal Academy mare Honeypenny.

Winner of the 2008 Sanford Stakes (gr. II) at Saratoga Race Course, Desert Party is a son of 2002 Dubai World Cup (UAE-I) winner Street Cry (IRE) and is out of the Tabasco Cat mare Sage Cat.

Bred in Kentucky by David Smith and Steven Sinatra, Desert Party, made five starts in Dubai and five in the United States. He finished his career with a victory in the Donald Levine Memorial Handicap at Philadelphia Park.

Before that, Desert Party had a 1 1/4-length triumph in the 2010 Derrinstown Stud Elnadim Mahab Al Shimaal (UAE-III), which was his first race after finishing unplaced in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) in May 2009. Following the classic, Desert Party was sidelined after undergoing surgery for the removal of a bone chip.

Desert Party boasted three other on-the-board finishes in Dubai, including a score in the 2009 Gulf News U.A.E. Two Thousand Guineas (UAE-III) at a mile. He also ran second in that year's Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah Group U.A.E. Derby (UAE-II). Raced throughout his career for Darley, Desert Party had a career record of 6-1-0 from 10 starts and earnings of $928,467.

After starting his stallion career at Darley near Lexington, Desert Party was moved to Sequel Stallions New York near Hudson, where he stands for a 2014 fee of $7,500.
