Elements from Chicago's world-famous skyline take center stage on the 2002 Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships logo. The 19th Breeders' Cup is scheduled for its Arlington Park debut Oct. 26."The event logo combines the international stature of Chicago with the branding of the World Thoroughbred Championships, a global sporting event in a great sports town," said D.G. Van Clief, Jr., president of Breeders' Cup and vice chairman of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association. "We look forward to displaying the logo widely throughout Chicago and to our international outlets."The official event logo, created by New York-based Phoenix Design Works, features a silhouette rendition of the Chicago skyline, including some of the city's most famous landmarks like the Sears Tower and the John Hancock Building. The skyline is set above a modified version of the World Thoroughbred Championships mark and is supported by the bannered words "Arlington Park 2002."
