Gary and Mary West's Dollar Bill will make his first start since finishing third behind Point Given and E Dubai in the Travers Stakes (gr. I) last August in a contentious allowance race Friday at Fair Grounds. Robby Albarado will guide the 4-year-old son of Peaks and Valleys from post-position two in the one mile and 40 yards race.

Dollar Bill's most recent win came at Fair Grounds, in the listed Risen Star Stakes last February. One race later, the Dallas Stewart trainee nearly fell after clipping heels in the stretch run of the Louisiana Derby (gr. II).

Also in the field are grade III winners Tahkodha Hills and Connected, as well as listed stakes winner Desert Demon.

Morning-line favorite Dollar Bill (2-1) will go to post under 118 pounds, four less than 122-pound highweight Miner's Prize. The 2000 Iowa Derby runner-up defeated Tahkodha Hills by a nose in a Feb. 22 allowance race at Fair Grounds under Gerald Melancon, who will be back in the irons on Friday. Miner's Prize is 8-1 on the morning line, making him the co-sixth choice in the nine-horse field.
