Hal's Hope Fresh for Crème Fraiche

Rose Family Stable's Hal's Hope, hero of the 2000 Florida Derby (gr. I), remains on target for Sunday's Crème Fraiche Handicap (gr. III) at Gulfstream Park.

In prepping for the Crème Fraiche, the 5-year-old son of Jolie's Halo, went handily over five furlongs in 1:00 4/5 on Feb. 27 at Calder Race Course. Hal's Hope finished seventh in the Donn Handicap (gr. I) Feb. 9, also at Gulfstream, after challenging at the head of the stretch before tiring suddenly.

Prior to the Donn, he finished a good third in the Skip Away Handicap (gr. III) Jan. 12 when beaten only a length for all of it.
