Keeneland Race Course has scheduled a long list of special events that will be offered during the 15-day spring meet at the Lexington track from April 4-25.

The events begin with the opening day "College Scholarship Day" and conclude with the closing-day "Concert on the Lawn" with Lexingtonian Laura Bell Bundy and Sundy Best. Among the other events are return of "Sunrise Trackside," the "Maker's Mark Commemorative Bottle Signing," and "Military Appreciation Day."

New events on the calendar include the "Ladies of the Turf" event that is part of "Horses and Hope Pink Day" and an Easter egg hunt.

Two other special events at the spring meet occur April 18 with the "50 to 1" Movie Tour making an appearance at the track and the "It's My Derby" fund-raiser. Mine That Bird's improbable journey from New Mexico to victory in the 2009 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) is featured in the movie "50 to 1." The movie premiers in Lexington April 18, the final stop on a 1,700-mile trek that began at Sunland Park. The day's activities will include an appearance by Mine That Bird and a fan meet and greet with actors from the movie.

It's My Derby, which will be held in the Keeneland sales pavilion, will feature a panel discussion and VIP reception with 2013 Kentucky Derby winner Orb  's co-owner and breeder Stuart Janney and trainer Shug McGaughey, as well as trainer Barclay Tagg, winner of the 2003 Derby and Preakness Stakes (gr. I) with Funny Cide, and two-time Derby-winning jockey Chris McCarron. Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas will moderate the panel. Proceeds benefit the Kentucky Derby Museum.
