Sally Arbib's Blast of Storm posted his third straight win in the Sandy Lane Barbados Gold Cup on Saturday at the Barbados Turf Club when he won a stretch duel with Eugene Melnyk's Warleigh. The winner, ridden by J. Jones, completed the 1 1/8 miles on turf in 1:48 3/5. The final time equaled Blast of Storm's record time in last year's edition of the Gold Cup.

The winner is a 6-year-old son of Perugino--Key Partner who was bred in Ireland. He is trained by W. C. Marshall. Melnyk's two other Canadian shippers--Airy Hill and Skeete's Bay--finished ninth and 12th, respectively, in the 13-horse field.
