Encaustic Sires First Three Foals

The first three foals sired by stakes winner Encaustic, a full brother to grade I winner Include  , are colts.

The first was born Jan. 12 and is out the winning Tiznow   mare Tiz Our Dream. Bred by Krystl Avedisian, he was foaled at Foggy Bottom Farm near Geneseo, N.Y. Tiz Our Dream has been bred back to Encaustic for 2014.

The second colt, born Feb. 7 out of Forty Licks, by Lycius, was bred by Tim Tompkins of Buffalo, N.Y., and was foaled at his private farm. Forty Licks is taking a year off from breeding in 2014.

The third colt, born Feb. 22 at Foggy Bottom, is out of Jill's Cat, by Catienus  , and was bred by Vincent Clerico of Pavilion Racing Stables in New Jersey. Jill's Cat will be bred back to Encaustic for 2014.

Encaustic, a son of Broad Brush, earned $645,330 and won or placed in 14 stakes at eight different tracks. His dam Illeria produced nine stakes horses from 13 foals, including five stakes winners, three of which were graded.

Encaustic's stands for $2,000 at Foggy Bottom.
