Free Veterinary Workshop in California

Learn about the latest veterinary treatments and procedures for racehorses at a free workshop March 16, sponsored by the Thoroughbred Owners of California, the California Thoroughbred Foundation, and the Southern California Equine Foundation.

The workshop will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association office, 201 Colorado Place, Arcadia, Calif.

A panel of veterinarians will discuss routine exams, diagnoses, and treatments as well as procedures used in case of injury, such as X-rays, nuclear scans, and surgeries.

Dr. Greg Ferraro, director of the Center for Equine Health at the University of California, Davis, will moderate the panel. The veterinarians who will join him include Dr. Jeff Blea, president of the Southern California Equine Foundation; Dr. Rick Arthur, past president and a current director of the SCEF; Dr. Joe Cannon, co-owner of the San Luis Rey Equine Clinic; and Dr. Ted Fischer, owner of the Chino Valley Equine Hospital.

Although the workshop is free and open to the public, reservations are required and seating is limited. Please call the TOC at (626) 574-6622 to reserve a spot.
