Godolphin's Bad As I Wanna Be will start from post one when he takes on 11 other horses in the Mahab Al Shimaal on Saturday at Nad Al Sheba.
Bad As I Wanna Be won two of five races as a juvenile, including the Prix Morny (Fr-I), then was unraced last year. He returned from a lengthy layoff to finish third in an allowance race n Feb. 10 at Nad Al Sheba. Jamie Spencer will be in the irons for Saturday's six-furlong race.
Stablemate Festival of Light may run in the Godolphin Mile following Saturday's sprint, during which Frankie Dettori will guide the Kentucky-bred son of A.P. Indy. Festival of Light brings a dust-covered three-race win streak into the Mahab Al Shimaal, having last raced in March of 2001 when he beat Curule by three-quarters of a length in last year's renewal of the Godolphin Mile.
Conroy brings a two-race winning streak into Saturday's race. He earned his first stakes win in his most recent start, when he won the Jebel Ali Sprint by a half-length on Feb. 1. The 4-year-old chestnut son of Gone West was bred in Kentucky by Darley Stud Management and has won three of five career races since beginning his racing career last November.
Also Saturday, Godolphin sends out Arlington maiden winners Expect and Opportunist in a 1 1/8-mile conditions race.
