Santiva  , a grade II-winning son of Giant's Causeway  , was represented by his first reported foal when a chestnut filly was born at Gerry and Dana Aschinger's War Horse Farm near Lexington Jan. 31.

The newborn filly is the first offspring out of the Kitalpha mare Bear All, owned by the Aschingers.

"We're extremely pleased with her," said Dana Aschinger. "She's an excellent first foal and she has her father's strong hip and shoulder."

Raced by Tom Walters, Santiva won the 2010 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (gr. II) and ran second in the Dixiana Breeders' Futurity (gr. I) at 2. He retired from racing with a record of 1-4-1 from 10 starts, for earnings of $266,097.

Santiva was bred in Kentucky by Paget Bloodstock and was produced from the Smarten mare Slide. He will stand the 2014 season at War Horse Place for $7,500.
