In Excess Filly Tops Barretts Workouts

A half-sister to multiple California champion Cover Gal posted the fastest one furlong time of 10.1 seconds during Monday's training preview in preparation for the March 5 sale of selected 2-year-olds in training conducted by Barretts Equine Ltd. Consigned by Havens Bloodstock Agency, the daughter of In Excess was purchased by Susan Edlund for $70,000 from the Yearsley Bloodstock consignment to last year's California Thoroughbred Sales August yearling sale.

Co-second fastest times of 10.2 seconds for one-eighth of a mile were posted by Wolf Power--Mildred colt consigned by Becky Thomas' Sequel Bloodstock and a Bates Motel--Chelly M. colt from the Havens consignment.

The training preview will be shown on the TVG Network Thursday from 8:00-9:00 (PST; 11:00 a.m.-noon EST).
