The hapless Zippy Chippy, whose effort in futility has seen him go to post 92 times without a victory in his lengthy career, will once again try to make the winner's circle Thursday night in the first race at Penn National Racecourse.
The 11-year-old gelding owned and trained by Felix Monserrate faces eight other non-winners in the maiden special weight test.
A New York-bred son of Compliance, Zippy Chippy was unraced as a 2-year-old. He was at his best as a 4-year-old of 1995, when he tallied three runner-up efforts and three thirds from 26 starts.
Zippy has seven seconds and 12 thirds to his credit, with earnings of $29,467.
