Sprinter Country Day Sires First Foal

Stakes-winning sprinter Country Day   (Speightstown  Hidden Assets, by Mt. Livermore) sired his first reported foal when a dark bay colt was born Jan. 22.

The newborn colt is out of the Not for Love   mare Love in Paris and is owned by Tracy Strachan.

Country Day won stakes on three different surfaces and ran a close second in the 2011 Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (gr. IIT). He compiled a career record of 7-4-2 from 19 starts, for earnings of $503,829.

Bred and raced by Bert Klein, Richard Klein, and Elaine Klein, Country Day will stand the 2014 season for $3,500 at Pope McLean's Crestwood Farm near Lexington.
