Top Turf Horse Get Stormy Sires First Foal

Three-time grade I winner and millionaire Get Stormy   was represented by his first reported foal when a dark bay colt was born Jan. 16.

The colt is out of the Silic mare Delamination, who is a half sister to group II-placed runner Melanosporum. Kostroma, the second dam of Delamination, was highweighted in Ireland and won three grade I races in the United States.

While racing as a homebred for Mary Sullivan's Sullimar Stable, Get Stormy won the Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap, Woodford Reserve Turf Classic, Makers Mark Mile Stakes (all gr. IT). A graded stakes winner at ages 3, 4, 5, and 6, he was trained by Tom Bush. 

Known as an enthusiastic frontrunner, Get Stormy won a total of seven graded stakes, and earned $1,606,812. Get Stormy will stand the 2014 season for $5,000 at Pope McLean's Crestwood Farm near Lexington.

Bred in Kentucky, the stallion is by Stormy Atlantic  , out of the Kiri's Clown mare Foolish Gal.
