Beholder's smashing victory in the Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) ensured her a second consecutive Eclipse Award. She was voted champion 3-year-old filly of 2013 over finalists Princess of Sylmar and Close Hatches.

That followed Beholder's 2-year-old filly championship in 2012.

The Clarkland Farm of Fred and Nancy Mitchell and daughter Marty Buckner bred Beholder in Kentucky. Richard Mandella trains the daughter of Henny HughesLeslie's Lady, by Tricky Creek, for owner B. Wayne Hughes.

Beholder in 2013 won five of seven starts, with two seconds. In addition to her Distaff win, she captured the Santa Anita Oaks (gr. I), Zenyatta Stakes (gr. I), Las Virgenes Stakes (gr. I), and Torrey Pines Stakes.

The votes below represent only first-place votes from members of the consolidated voting entities, NTRA, Daily Racing Form, and National Turf Writers And Broadcasters.

Beholder, 207; Princess of Sylmar, 42.
