The Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana's annual yearling sale is set for Sept. 23 at the Ike Hamilton Center in West Monroe, La.
The sale has produced good results in recent years. In 2013, a chestnut yearling colt by Awesome Again —Clear Sailing, by Empire Maker fetched $210,000 and set an all-time sales record.
Recent sales graduates also have shown success at the racetrack. Designer Legs, a 2012 graduate of the BSCOL auction, won two stakes in 2013, including the Adirondack (gr. II). An earner of more than $190,000, she also competed in last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I). Sittin At the Bar, a 2011 sales graduate, is a multiple stakes winner with a bankroll of more than $600,000.
Consignment forms will be posted on www.louisianabred.com soon.
