First Foal by Jersey Town Reported Jan. 10

Jersey Town  , a grade I-winning miler by leading sire Speightstown  , sired his first reported foal when a filly was born Jan. 10 at Pennland Farm in Paris, Ky.

Bred by John Penn, the filly is out of the Langfuhr mare I’lltakeit, a three-quarter sister to grade I winner Military. Her second dam is the top producer Battle Creek Girl.

Jersey Town, who hails from the three-time grade I-winning mare Jersey Girl, is set to stand his second season in 2014 at Darby Dan Farm in Lexington, Ky., for a fee of $10,000 stands and nurses.

Owned and bred by Charles Fipke, Jersey Town was a multiple graded stakes winner including winning the Cigar Mile (gr. I). He earned $819,668 while recording six wins and 11 placings from 21 lifetime races.
