Stronach Stables' Red Bullet, who defeated Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus in the Preakness Stakes, will be sidelined for the rest of the year, Daily Racing Form reported in its Friday edition. An X-ray revealed a shadow that could indicate a fracture in the colt's left front cannon bone.

Red Bullet will rest at Frank Stronach's Adena Springs Farm in Ocala, Fla., and could return to the races in early 2001. Though he passed on the Belmont Stakes, Red Bullet had been expected to compete this summer and through the fall with the Breeders' Cup Classic the objective.
