Legacy Bloodstock Relaunched by Easthams

Veteran Thoroughbred industry members Tommy and Wyndee Eastham announced Dec. 19 that they have relaunched Legacy Bloodstock, the Lexington, Ky.-based Thoroughbred sales agency that Tommy Eastham co-owned with former partner Mark Toothaker.

Legacy Bloodstock is accepting horses for the 2014 sales season and has nearly two dozen horses being readied for the Keeneland January mixed sale. Tommy Eastham resumes operations of Legacy Bloodstock after two years as director of sales for Darby Dan Farm.

"I enjoyed working at Darby Dan and it was a great time of growth for both Darby Dan and me," said Eastham in a release. "As Wyndee and I discussed the future of our family, we felt it was in the best interest of our children to operate as a family business. We want Legacy Bloodstock to fulfill its name and ensure that future generations can share in the experience of owning and operating a family business.

"Wyndee has spent 15 years in the industry investing in relationships both nationally and internationally through her positions at Breeders' Cup and the National Thoroughbred Racing Association," he added. "These relationships will be a great asset to our clients. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work together in the industry that we share a love and passion for.

In its seven-year history, Legacy Bloodstock was among the top 15 international consigners four years in a row and sold numerous grade I winners, including champion Stardom Bound. Legacy sold the sales topper at nine different sales.
