Malhouitre New Runnymede General Manager

Romain Malhouitre, a former manager with Dixiana and Woods Edge farms, has been named vice president and general manager of Runnymede Farm, effective immediately.

Malhouitre succeeds Martin O'Dowd, who will continue as a senior consultant with Runnymede while also operating a bloodstock and racing management venture.

Malhouitre most recently directed client management at Kentucky's Dixiana Farms, where his positions included sales director and assistant farm manager. Prior to his six years at Dixiana, Malhouitre worked for Peter O'Callaghan's Woods Edge Farm, where he was yearling manager.

Malhouitre previously worked in County Kildare, Ireland, with Milltown Stud and Morristown Lattin Stud farms, the latter as stallion manager. A native of France, Malhouitre began his career with a focus on business and insurance.

"We are delighted to have a rising industry star in Romain on board the Runnymede leadership team," said Runnymede president Brutus Clay in a release. "Romain brings a diversified skill set and a strong portfolio of global experience that blends well with Runnymede's excellence in Thoroughbred breeding and racing internationally.

"At the same time, Romain brings some exciting new dimensions to Runnymede with proven pin-hooking, syndicate management, and client development that will accelerate our strategic expansion into these areas as Runnymede's fourth generation continues to carry on our tradition while also looking to forge long-term relationships with like-minded partners."

Malhouitre is looking forward to the new challenge.

"I am gratified to have the trust of the Runnymede management team to help lead the farm forward to build on Runnymede's unique global brand in the Thoroughbred arena while expanding into new market portfolios and strengthening the farm's business base at a time when the Thoroughbred industry is rebounding and dynamic," said Malhouitre.

Runnymede Chairman Catesby W. Clay said: "Romain is one of the best young horsemen on the Thoroughbred scene, and I look forward to blazing new trails with him on the breeding, racing and entrepreneurial fronts."
