Sporting Art Auction on Tap for Nov. 20

The inaugural Sporting Art Auction featuring 174 lots of sporting art, American paintings, and sculpture will take place Nov. 20, at 4 p.m. ET in the Keeneland sales pavilion in Lexington.

The auction is part of a new collaboration between Keeneland and Lexington's Cross Gate Gallery.

Doors will open Wednesday at 11 a.m. and the art auction organizers recommend pre-registration that can be completed online (Purchaser Registration Form) or in person in the sales pavilion.

The artwork can be seen by the public Monday, Nov. 18, and Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the sales pavilion. The catalog is available at www.thesportingartauction.com.

Among the 174 high-quality lots to be offered are pieces by Sir John Frederick Herring Sr., Sir Alfred J. Munnings, Edward Troye, Franklin Voss, Peter Curling, and Andre Pater. The auction also includes works by three generations of Wyethsgrandfather N.C., father Andrew, and son Jamieand American painter Mary Cassatt.

The Limestone Café in the sales pavilion will be open throughout the day of the auction.
