Prominent New York stallion Frost Giant  , who set an Empire State record for freshman progeny earnings in 2012 and leads the 2013 second-crop sire list by a wide margin, will stand the 2014 season for $10,000, up from $7,500.

The 10-year-old son of Giant's Causeway   stands at Keane Stud near Amenia, N.Y.

Bred in Kentucky by J.M.J Stables Corporation, he was produced by the Gone West mare Takesmybreathaway. Frost Giant covered 139 mares in 2013, the highest number for a season to date in his young career.

"We are grateful to New York breeders who supported Frost Giant so well this year," said Eric Bishop, who manages the stallion for owner Sunset Stables.

"With his progeny continuing to perform superbly, we are looking forward to bigger crops in the future and to providing him with more and more high-quality mares. We wanted to keep his fee attractive and reasonable while also reflecting the achievements of his offspring," added Sunset Stables owner Andrew Cohen, who owns Sunset.

Frost Giant's best runners this year include multiple stakes winners Frosty Bay and West Hills Giant; graded stakes-placed runner and Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) contender Giant Finish, and 2012 New York-bred champion juvenile filly Kelli Got Frosty, who has won or placed in six stakes during her 11-start career.

In addition to leading New York's second-crop sires, Frost Giant ranks 13th among all sires in the Empire State.

Frost Giant hails from the family of Kentucky Derby winner and young stallion Super Saver  , champion juvenile Rhythm, grade I winner Bluegrass Cat  , prominent sire Mutakddim, and grade I winner Girolamo  .
