Frank Stronach's Adena Springs Farm announced Nov. 7 the 2014 stud fees for their Kentucky stallion roster including new stallions Point of Entry and Fort Larned .
Five-time grade I winner Point of Entry, a son of Dynaformer out of Matlacha Pass (Seeking the Gold), bred and raced by Phipps Stable, retires to Adena Springs at a $25,000 stud fee. He is joined by the 2012 Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) winner Fort Larned, a three-time grade I winner bred and raced by the Whitham family, who will stand for a fee of $20,000.
Ghostzapper , prominently ranked among the leading sires by stakes winners, graded stakes winners, and earnings each of the past two years, will stand for $50,000, up from $40,000 in 2013.
Promising freshman sires of 2013, Einstein and Tiago , will remain at $7,500 and $3,500, respectively.
"We are extremely excited about our 2014 Kentucky stallion roster," said Adena Springs general manager Eric Hamelback. "To have four individual Breeders' Cup Classic winners and the sire of this year's Breeders' Cup Classic winner all in the same stallion barn is an incredible achievement, and a tribute to Frank Stronach's vision and philosophy.
"Our nine Kentucky-based stallions are all grade I-winning millionaires, and they come from a wide variety of bloodlines and will be available to breeders at every level of the market. The Stronachs' mission is always to breed to race, and with Awesome Again, Ghostzapper, and Macho Uno we will stand three of the current top 15 sires on the general sires list."
Adena Springs' open house continues daily 9 a.m.-3 p.m. through Saturday, Nov. 9, with hot food served all day. Both Point Of Entry and Fort Larned are available for inspection.
