Redoute's Choice Back to France for 2014

The Aga Khan Studs has confirmed that Australian champion sire Redoute's Choice (DanehillShantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) will shuttle for the second time to stand the Northern Hemisphere season at Haras de Bonneval in France for 2014. He is currently located at John Messara's Arrowfield Stud in Australia, where he has stood since 2002.

Redoute's Choice's progeny recorded two Classic victories this season (Wylie Hall in the South African Derby, SAf-I, and Royal Descent in the Patinack Farm Australian Oaks, Aus-I), and his tally of group I winners now stands at 23, seven of which won at age 2.

The stallion was represented by his 100th individual stakes winner in 2013, the only active Australasian sire with such a record. He also maintains an impressive lifetime percentage of 76.4% for winners to runners.

Redoute's Choice had a successful first season at the Aga Khan Studs in 2013, covering 105 mares, 84 of which were confirmed in foal as of Oct. 1. Among them are the unbeaten European Horse of the Year and three-time French highweight Zarkava and Anabaa, the dam of international champion mare Goldikova.

Redoute's Choice will return to Normandy, France at the beginning of 2014. By then, he will have covered 120 mares, at the price of Aust$137,500 ($130,301 in United States funds). The stallion's 2014 fee at Haras de Bonneval has not yet been announced. He stood at the farm last year for 70,000 Euros ($96,219).
