Hollywood Prevue (gr. III) winner Fonz's and stakes-placed were on track Saturday morning in preparation for the Mar. 2 San Rafael Stakes (gr. II).
Fonz's worked six furlongs in 1:13 4/5 at Hollywood Park for trainer David La Croix. The gelded son of Out of Place will be making his second start in a two-turn race in the one-mile San Rafael, having previously finished second to Siphonic in the 1 1/16-mile Hollywood Futurity (gr. I). After two days of advance pari-mutuel betting for the Kentucky Derby, Fonz's was listed at odds of 50-1 for the 1 1/4-mile classic.
Werblin also worked six furlongs, getting the distance in 1:13 1/5 at Santa Anita. A winner of two of three career races, Werblin finished third in the San Vicente (gr. II) in his stakes debut. Eduardo Inda trains the son of Unbridled's Song for owners Aaron and Marie Jones.
Came Home, Pelirrojo and Shah Jehan and also likely for the San Rafael, with Danthebluegrassman under consideration for that or the March 9 El Camino Real Derby at Golden Gate Fields.
Also at Santa Anita, Raven Power worked seven furlongs in 1:27 1/5. The Stronach Stable homebred finished second as the 9-10 favorite in a Jan. 30 optional claiming race won by the late running Pelirrojo. That start was just the second career start for the Bruce Headley-trained son of Known Fact and his first start around two turns. Headley is undecided on Raven Power's next start.
Other 3-year-olds working Saturday include Hutcheson Stakes (gr. II) runner-up Monthir. Monthir, whose career record boasts a maiden win and four second-place finishes, went four furlongs in :48 4/5 while breezing at Gulfstream Park.
