Grade II Winner Krisada Retired After Injury
Krisada, who won the Dec. 29 La Prevoyante Handicap (gr. IIT) in her final outing, has been retired and will be bred this spring, according to her trainer, Shug McGaughey. She is booked to Rahy."We were going to run her in The Very One Handicap and then retire her," he said, "but she suffered a minor injury so we decided to go ahead and retire her." Krisada is owned by Robert and Janice McNair's Stonerside Stable.Krisada retires with five wins, all on turf, from 20 starts and earnings of $267,980. The 6-year-old mare by Kris S. also placed in three other stakes during 2001, finishing third in the grade III Bewitch Stakes, the Dowager Stakes (both at Keeneland), and the Robert G. Dick Memorial Breeders' Cup Stakes at Delaware Park.Her finest hour, however, was the La Prevoyante, when she covered the 12 furlongs in 2:26.63 to prevail by a neck over Sweetest Thing under Pat Day.
