The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association will provide live streaming of the 28th Annual National Awards Dinner, to be held at Fasig-Tipton's Newtown Paddocks sale grounds Sept. 6. The live stream will be available on bloodhorse.com.
"We are excited to partner with The Blood-Horse to offer a live stream of the awards dinner," said Dan Metzger, president of TOBA. "Due to the popularity of the live stream last year we have decided to offer this opportunity to our members and the racing community again this year."
To be announced during the dinner will be the national owner of the year, national breeder of the year, and the national small breeder of the year.
Video coverage of the National Awards Dinner will begin at 8 p.m. EDT and can be seen at www.bloodhorse.com/tobaawards.
The TOBA National Awards Dinner, hosted by former jockey and television racing analyst Donna Barton Brothers, honors the achievements of Thoroughbred owners in the four major North American racing regions and breeders in 21 states and Canada. In addition, the Rood & Riddle Thoroughbred Sport Horse of the Year Award will be presented to the owners of Thomas Edison, an ex-Thoroughbred racehorse that has excelled in sport horse competitions as tracked by the United States Equestrian Federation.
TOBA will also honor Lisa Danielle, the national Broodmare of the Year and dam of Morton Fink's homebred 2012 Horse of the Year Wise Dan. The association will also honor prominent owner and breeder Gary Biszantz with its Industry Service Award.
