On Eagles Wings was represented by his first winner Aug. 25 as Roy's Eagle posted an impressive 5 1/2-length victory in the first race at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, a maiden special weight for juvenile fillies (VIDEO).
 
Phillips Racing Partnership bred On Eagles Wings in Kentucky. The 9-year-old stallion is by Gone West out of the Kris S. mare Soaring Softly, winner of the 1999 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT).
 
Roy's Eagle was piloted by Carlos Castro in the 4 1/2-furlong dirt dash. Dueling on the front through the turn, the filly was edged clear in the upper stretch and finished driving in a final time of :54.06.
 
John McKee trains the chestnut filly, whom he bred and owns. Roy's Eagle was foaled out of the mare Das Is Alles, by Roy. 
 
On Eagles Wings stands at Beau Ridge Farm near Kearneysville, W.Va. His fee for the 2013 breeding season was $1,000.
