Louisiana stallion Lone Star Special was represented by his first winner when Chickasaw Bayou, posted a victory in her second start on Aug. 18 in the second race, a maiden special weight, at Harrah's Louisiana Downs Casino and Racetrack (VIDEO).
The 2-year-old filly, with jockey Richard Eramia in the irons, tracked the pace in third before moving out three wide in the stretch and hit the wire three lengths ahead of her eight rivals. The dark bay filly won going away, with a final time of :57.24 for the five furlong dirt dash.
Chickasaw Bayou was bred in Louisiana out of the Belong to Me mare, Water Walker. The Danny Pish trainee races as a homebred for owners Tigertail Ranch, who also bred her sire, Lone Star Special, in Kentucky.
A dual stakes winner, Lone Star retired with a record of 4-0-1 from 9 starts, and earnings of $105,320.
