Dancing Rain, winner of the Epsom and German Oaks in 2011 and in foal to superstar Frankel, has been entered in Tattersalls December sale in Newmarket, England.

Trained by William Haggas for Martin and Lee Taylor, the daughter of Danehill Dancer's four wins included the Investec Oaks (Eng-I), Preis der Diana-German Oaks (Ger-I), and QIPCO British Champions Pride Stakes (Eng-II).

Dancing Rain was bred in Ireland by Swettenham Stud and is out of the unraced Indian Ridge mare Rain Flower, who is a half sister to champion 3-year-old colt Dr Devious, winner of the 1992 Ever Ready Epsom Derby (Eng-I).

According to Tattersalls, Dancing Rain will be the first Epsom Oaks winner carrying her first foal to be offered at public auction in more than 50 years. Dancing Rain is in foal to Frankel, who topped the world's Thoroughbred rankings when retired with an unblemished record of 14 wins, on a March 2 cover.

Dancing Rain is being offered as part of the Clairemont Stud consignment during the Tattersalls sale's opening session Dec. 2.

"Dancing Rain is a real jewel and it is a very rare honor to be entrusted with the sale of a broodmare with such quality," Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony said in a statement. "She is a gorgeous mare, she is a dual classic winner, and she is in foal to the best racehorse most of us will ever see."
