New Zealand-bred Sunline earned her 10th career group I win in the seven-furlong Waikato Draught Sprint (NZ-I) at Te Repa Saturday, while improving her record to nine wins from nine starts in her home country.

"She feels better than she did during the spring," jockey Greg Childs told The Evening Post. "How many other horses have won 28 races and 10 group ones?"

A 6-year-old mare, Sunline (Desert Sun -- Songline, by Western Symphony) has now won 28 of 41 career races.

Trainer and co-owner Trevor McKee told the paper it's likely Sunline will race next in Australia, with the Coolmore Classic a likely target, though he hasn't ruled out a return trip to Dubai next month.

Sunline won the Waikato Sprint by 4 1/4 lengths last year then finished third in the Dubai Duty Free (UAE-II) after a group II win in Australia. In this year's sprint, she trimmed three ticks off her winning time from last year's event, according to the paper.

Spring Rain finished second but was disqualified and placed behind Honor Bound and Vinaka. The paper reports Melbourne Cup winner Ethereal closed well for fifth and is also under consideration for a trip to Dubai.
