Old Friends at Cabin Creek, the New York division of Old Friends Thoroughbred retirement center in Georgetown, Ky., will be hosting two special events this summer to coincide with Saratoga Race Course meet.

The first on Friday, July 26, is an open house in honor of Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner Palace Malice. On hand to celebrate the Dogwood Stable colt's victory will be Cot and Anne Campbell, trainer Todd Pletcher, jockey Mike Smith, and Old Friends president Michael Blowen. Contributions to Old Friends will be accepted.

The event is from 6:30-8 p.m. (EDT) at the Washington Inn, 111 South Broadway, Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

 
An afternoon with Funny Cide, the first New York-bred horse to win the Kentucky Derby (gr. I), will take place at Old Friends Greenfield Center location at Cabin Creek Farm (about 15 minutes from Saratoga Springs) Aug. 6. In addition to the Derby and Preakness Stakes (gr. I) winner, scheduled to attend are Jack Knowlton of Sackatoga Stables and jockey Jose Santos. Lunch will be catered by Five Points Deli and a $20 donation per person is suggested. All proceeds will benefit Old Friends at Cabin Creek.
