Apprentice jockey Lorenzo Lezcano rode five winners on Aqueduct's Wednesday's program. Lezcano, a Panamanian who was born in Dec. 31, 1981, began riding in New York in July, 2001.

Lezcano began the day by sweeping the early Daily Double, winning the first race with Here's Jessie ($5.50) and the second with Let's Go to Dodge ($4). He then scored again in the fifth race with Won Moro ($6.30) and in the sixth with Smart Jet ($27.60). He won the featured eighth race with Flying Baron ($5.30).

"It is a very emotional thing to win five races," said Lezcano through an interpreter. "I tried very hard to ride in the mornings and I try hard in the afternoons. Today, I thought I might win two, and then three. I didn't think I could win more than that. I am very happy."

Lezcano's last mount, Theres Trouble, was unplaced in the ninth and final race on the card.
