In the interest of the safety, Oaklawn Park has cancelled both live and simulcast programs for Wednesday, Feb. 6. The decision was made Wednesday morning following a four-inch snowfall overnight in the Hot Springs area.
"We have a lot of wet snow on the track and some potentially hazardous driving conditions in the region, which make it very unwise for us to even try to get open today," said Eric Jackson, the track's general manager.
A decision will be made later concerning the scheduled racing programs for Thursday. The "Classix" carryover pool will carry over to the next live racing program. The current carryover is $144,040.
