The catalog for the Deauville August yearling sale conducted by Arqana Aug. 17-19 is now available online at the French sales company's website.

The 2013 edition of the sale, conducted over the Prix Morny (Fr-I) weekend, has been scheduled for three days, rather than the four-day event conducted in the past, with 376 yearlings cataloged. Last year, 471 yearlings were offered at the auction. The sale is divided into two parts, with 188 head being offered the first two days of the sale, Aug. 17-18, during sessions that begin at 5 p.m. daily. Starting at 1 p.m. Aug. 19, the remaining 188 yearlings will go through the ring.

The August sale will be followed on Aug. 20 by the inaugural v.2 yearling sale, with 123 youngsters cataloged.

Arqana president Eric Hoyeau said in a statement that the sale's success is evidenced by four graduates of the Deauville sale being included in the 15 highest-rated 3-year-olds in Timeform's European rankings so far this year.

"It is a remarkable result for Arqana, especially as the catalog size and the average price of our August sale are lower than other high-profile sales in Europe," Hoyeau said. "We owe this achievement to the French breeders who entrust us, year on year, with their best yearlings, as well as to their British, Irish, German, and Italian counterparts who have repeatedly shown their faith in our sale by bringing top quality individuals to Deauville."
