Stephentown, an impressive allowance winner on Jan. 9, breezed a half-mile in :52 Monday in preparation for the $200,000 Fountain of Youth (gr. II) on Feb. 16.

"He went well and all I want to do now is keep him happy and relaxed," trainer Tony Reidstedler said. "He's still got a lot of growing and learning to do. I've got a lot of confidence in this horse and so does his rider (Pat Day). We'll go race by race with him and our current goal is the Fountain of Youith."

Purchased for $500,000 at the 2000 Keeneland July yearling sale, Stephentown finished second in his career debut at Ellis Park in July. He then overcame trouble to break his maiden by two lengths at Churchill Downs on Nov. 23.
