Enchanting Lisa, a 3-year-old half sister to Horse of the Year Wise Dan, won her debut June 12 in a romp over a maiden special weight field on the synthetic track at Presque Isle Downs (VIDEO).

Like Wise Dan and his multiple graded stakes-winning older half brother Successful Dan, Enchanting Lisa was bred by his owner Morton Fink and is trained by Charles LoPresti. Successful Dan is the 2-1 morning line favorite for the $500,000 Stephen Foster Handicap (gr. I) June 15 at Churchill Downs.

The Kentucky-bred bay filly is by War Chant out of the Wolf Power mare Lisa Danielle, who in April the Kentucky Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association named Broodmare of the Year.

Like her siblings, Enchanting Lisa trains with LoPresti at Keeneland, where she had posted seven breezes over the Polytrack since April 17.

Ridden by Pablo Morales, Enchanting Lisa scored by seven lengths in the $35,250 event while completing the one-mile and 70-yard distance in 1:42.86 over the Tapeta racing surface.

Breaking well for Morales, Enchanting Lisa raced fifth between horses at the start and advanced to fourth while toward the inside on the first turn. She enjoyed a perfect stalking trip behind pacesetting Wisenbossy, who opened up an early 2 1/2-length lead.

Enchanting Lisa tipped out four wide at the quarter pole and came home with authority, getting the lead from Wisenbossy approaching mid-stretch. She drew off handily without need of urging from Morales.

Sent off as the third choice in the field of nine at odds of 3-1, Enchanting Lisa paid $8.40, $4, and $2.80 across the board. Personalized, $7.20 and $3.80, helped combine for an exacta worth $69.20. Mizzilli, the 9-5 favorite, edged Supreme Maker for third and paid $2.60.
