Wooden Phone Sidelined with Shoulder Fracture

A shoulder fracture will force 2001 Strub Stakes (gr. II) winner Wooden Phone to the sidelines, according to trainer Bob Baffert. The conditioner said the injury was detected by a nuclear scan and that the 5-year-old will be out for about three months.

Wooden Phone has won five of 14 career starts. Last time out, the Florida-bred gelded son of Pick Up the Phone won the San Pasqual Handicap (gr. II) by a head-length over Euchre. He has earned $830,236 in his career.
