Returning to Churchill and the Marathon in 2011, A. U. Miner was pulled up by Borel after sustaining a sesamoid injury. After undergoing successful surgery at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington the horse has been recuperating on a farm near Versailles, Ky.
