Yvonne Azeff, who has been unconscious for six days since suffering a serious head injury after being thrown from her pony at Gulfstream Park Jan. 27, is still listed in serious condition at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Fla.

According to Dr. Lawrence Lottenberg, director of trauma and critical care for Memorial Regional Hospital Trauma Center, Azeff suffered a traumatic brain injury and she is recovering from her injuries, but she is still in a semi-comatose state.

"She is off the ventilator, and she is being moved out of the intensive care unit today," said Dr. Lottenberg.

Azeff, 41, is assistant trainer to John Ward, and previously was assistant to D. Wayne Lukas, Pat Byrne, and Randy Bradshaw.
