Zippy Chippy extended his losing streak to 92 races Thursday night at Penn National when the 11-year-old Compliance gelding finished last of seven in a six-furlong maiden race. The Felix Monserrate trainee finished 20 1/2 lengths behind sixth-place finisher Dig That Jazz and nearly 33 lengths behind the winning Judge Me Ladies.
Zippy Chippy broke with the field, then shuffled back to last while saving ground on the track listed in "good" condition. Ron's Lad led the field into the stretch and then was passed by favored Senor Magico, who could not hold off the late run of Judge Me Ladies. Judge Me Ladies won by a half-length, completing the distance in 1:13.43.
While being saddled odds on Zippy Chippy dropped to 7-2. He swished his tail once while leaving the saddling area as his odds began to increase. He drifted up to 9-1 in the win pool, though at that point he was still favored in the show pool. By post time, he was the highest price on the board at 14-1.
Five-year-old Judge Me Ladies (Judge Smells--Lady Lillie B., by Fast Passer) paid $19.80 for the win and was bred in Pennsylvania by his owner and trainer Tina L. Deibler. (Chart, Equibase
