Godolphin Racing's Breeders' Cup Classic runner-up Sakhee will make his 2002 debut and Dubai's Nad Al Sheba Racecourse in late February as a prep for the March 23, $6-million Dubai World Cup.

Godolphin Racing manager Simon Crisford said Sakhee would start either in the third round of the Maktoum Challenge (UAE-II) on Feb. 28 or would contest a conditioned race at Nad Al Sheba a week earlier.

"Sakhee is doing very well and is just beginning to shape up nicely," Crisford said after Godolphin was represented by its first two winners of the year at Nad Al Sheba Thursday night. "There is a Conditions event here on February 21 or there is the third round of the Maktoum Challenge over the same trip a week later and Sheikh Hamdan will decide on which he will run," Crisford said.

Sheikh Hamdan also has Champion Stakes (gr. I) winner Nayef pointed toward the World Cup card.
