Horse Racing Radio Network, a Lexington-based broadcast organization, announced May 14 they will provide eight hours of Preakness Stakes (gr. I) coverage live from Pimlico Race Course beginning Friday, May 17.
For the sixth consecutive year, HRRN's coverage will culminate Saturday afternoon with exclusive coverage of the Preakness from 5-7 p.m. (all times ET).
HRRN 's coverage begins Friday with a two hour broadcast of the Black Eyed Susan (gr. II) and Pimlico Special (gr. III) from 4-6 p.m. On Saturday, HRRN will host a special Preakness Stakes edition of its weekly talk show, the "Equine Forum," from 8-10 a.m.
The network's live race coverage continues Saturday afternoon with the Preakness Day undercard stakes from 2-4 p.m. followed by exclusive radio coverage of Preakness 138 beginning at 5 p.m.
Fans can tune in on multiple HRRN affiliates throughout the country as well as on SiriusXM satellite radio and online with live streaming provided on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net.
HRRN's coverage of the Preakness will also be aired to U.S. service men and women around the globe on the American Forces Network. A complete listing of affiliates and SiriusXM channel information can be found on the HRRN site.
Additional HRRN programming throughout Preakness week includes "Trainer Talk" on the afternoon of May 15, the "Brisnet.com Call In Show" presented by TwinSpires May 16, and the "Xpressbet Weekend Stakes Preview" May 17. All three shows can be heard live from 6-7 p.m. on Sirius 93/XM 209.
HRRN president Mike Penna will anchor the coverage along with analysts Jude Feld and Kurt Becker. Sean Clancy and Chad Summers will provide live paddock interviews and commentary.
