Stuart Janney III and Phipps Stable's Orb   visited the Belmont Park paddock before galloping 1 1/2 miles on a sloppy surface May 12 and remained on schedule to ship to Maryland the following day.

The winner of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) is scheduled to breeze at Belmont the morning of May 13, then ship to Pimlico Race Course for the Preakness Stakes (gr. I), the second leg of the Triple Crown on May 18.

"I think it will be fine," trainer Shug McGaughey said in regard to the racing surface drying out. "The sun is out, there's no humidity, and the wind is picking up."

Among the challengers Orb is likely to face in the second leg of the Triple Crown are Derby runners Mylute (fifth), Oxbow   (sixth), Will Take Charge (eighth), Itsmyluckyday   (15th), and Goldencents   (17th), with Vyjack (18th) still under consideration. New shooters include Illinois Derby (gr. III) winner Departing, trainer Bob Baffert's Govenor Charlie, and Titletown Five.

Meanwhile, trainer Doug O'Neill decided May 12 he won't work Goldencents before the Preakness. Goldencents, owned by W.C. Racing, Dave Kenney, and RAP Racing, will gallop up to the Preakness.

"It was never certain that he was going to work; it was kind of tentative," said assistant trainer Jack Sisterson, who arrived at Pimlico with Goldencents the week after the Derby. "We never worked I'll Have Another  , so we're going to stay on that schedule."

O'Neill sent 2012 Kentucky Derby winner I'll Have Another to Pimlico two days after his victory at Churchill Downs. The colt turned in vigorous gallops and won the Preakness.

Goldencents has been galloping every morning at Pimlico since May 10.

"He's getting enough out of his training where he doesn't need to work," Sisterson said of the colt. "He's doing very well."
