The Northern Hemisphere breeding season hasn't even started yet and already Coolmore Stud is making plans for the Southern Hemisphere season. One of its incoming stallions, English and Irish group I winner Black Minnaloushe, will head to New Zealand to Nelson Schick's Windsor Park Stud after covering his first book of mares at Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky. Ashford is a Coolmore satellite.
Four-year-old Black Minnaloushe (Storm Cat -- Coral Dance, by Green Dancer) won the Irish Two Thousand Guineas (Ire-I) and St. James's Palace Stakes (Eng-I) and was retired with four wins from 11 starts and earnings of $490,945. His Ashford fee is $15,000 and his New Zealand fee will be announced at a later date.
