A Zabeel colt out of the group I winner Our Marquise brought the top price of $1,050,000 (approximately $444,140 in U.S. funds) during Tuesday's second session of the New Zealand premier yearling sale at Karaka. Consigned by Cambridge Stud, he was purchased by Emirates Park Stud, which is owned by Nasser Lootah of Dubai.

The nearly black colt's dam, an 11-year-old daughter of Gold and Ivory, captured the 1996 TVNZ Captain Cook Stakes (NZ-I) and also was a grade II winner in Australia. She is a half-sister to 1996 Australian Horse of the Year Octagonal and Australian group I winner Kaapstad, a leading sire.

In all, 147 yearlings were sold for a gross of $14,239,500 ($6,023,309) and an average of $96,867 ($40,975).
