Bad As I Wanna Be Wins Prix Morny
Joe L. Allbritton's 2-year-old colt Bad As I Wanna Be earned his second career victory Sunday, winning the Prix Morny Casinos Barriere (Fr-I) by six lengths at Deauville, France. Endless Summer was second, a length ahead of Godolphin's Noverre. Rolly Polly came home fourth, followed by Pyrus and Red Magic.Under jockey Gerald Mosse, Bad As I Wanna Be led throughout before unleashing a strong run with just over two furlongs left to run to pull clear. Sent off at over 15-1, Bad As I Wanna Be completed the straight six furlongs in 1:10.3 over good to soft turf.The win was the second in three career races for Bad As I Wanna Be (Common Grounds--Song of the Glens, by Horage), who previously won a maiden race by three lengths in July. The winner is trained by Brian Meehan and was bred in Ireland by Yeomanstown Stud.
