A Pine Bluff colt turned in the fastest eighth of a mile work Monday at Calder Race Course, covering the distance in 10 1/5 seconds during the first under tack show for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Comapany's select sale of 2-year-olds in training. The auction is scheduled for Feb. 5 at Calder in South Florida.

Consigned by Paul Sharp, agent, the colt was produced from the unraced Housebuster mare Street Tappin, who is a half-sister to Irish group III winner Street Rebel, stakes winner Ponche, and Arbela, the dam of graded winner and Canadian champion Apelia. Sharp purchased the colt for $35,000 at last year's Keeneland September yearling sale.

An End Sweep colt named Copelan's Sweep and a filly from the first crop of Concerto shared the fastest times for a quarter mile, stopping the clock in 22 2/5 seconds. Consigned by Frank Henson of KMT Equine, agent, Copelan's Sweep was purchased by Henson for $43,000 at last year's OBS August yearling sale. The colt was produced from the winning Copelan mare Copelans Mist, who is a full sister to grade II winner Ms. Mostly. Consigned by Ocala Stud Farms, agent, the Concerto filly was produced from the stakes-placed No Sale George mare Dame Georgette and is from the family of champion sprinter Cherokee Run. The filly was bred by Mike O'Farrell of Ocala Stud and Edward Wiest.

The second under tack show for the OBS Calder auction is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 3, beginning at 10:30 a.m. (EST) at Calder.
