Unbridled Elaine is nearing her 4-year-old debut for trainer Dallas Stewart, who is pointing the daughter of Unbridled's Song to the Feb. 23 Chou Croute Stakes at Fair Grounds. The Breeders' Cup Distaff winner worked four furlongs at the New Orleans track in :50 1/5, breezing, Thursday morning.
Roger J. Devenport's Unbridled Elaine has won six of 11 career starts and has four wins in seven starts while conditioned by Stewart. David Vance trained her to Iowa and Monmouth Park Breeders' Cup ( gr. II) Oaks wins before the filly was switched back to Stewart just before her Breeders' Cup engagement. After winning the Distaff by a head over Spain, Unbridled Elaine finished third in the Falls City Handicap (gr. III) to conclude her season.
Unbridled Elaine is out of the Taylor's Falls mare Carols Folly and is a half-sister to Ashland Stakes (gr. I) winner Glitter Woman (by Glitterman). Glitter Woman's first foal, a Storm Cat colt named City Place, is a 2-year-old of this year.
