Woobine Entertainment Group has extended its telephone wagering services to patrons of the Flamboro Downs harness track, about 40 miles south of Toronto.Effective immediately, the residents of a three-county area around Flamboro Downs will be able to wager through Woodbine Entertainmentês HorsePlayer Interactive service. HorsePlayer offers automated telephone account betting and Internet services, such as online programs and streaming video.Since its inception in 1997, more than 13,300 people from across Canada and internationally have registered accounts and wagered more than $172 million with HorsePlayer Interactive including more than $73 million in 2001. Based in Toronto, HorsePlayer Interactive is fully owned by Woodbine Entertainment and regulated by the Canadian Pari-mutuel Agency.Racing fans throughout Canada can also subscribe to The Racing Network (TRN), which enables subscribers to watch live horse races from the best tracks in North America and beyond. The digital channels provide racing and odds from up to four tracks simultaneously, 12 hours a day, and are available through Bell ExpressVu, Rogers Digital and Cogeco Digital. TRN's digital channels can be purchased as part of a digital sports package or individually. TRN also offers through pay-per-view two channels of live uninterrupted simulcast shows from two tracks in the afternoon and two tracks in the evening.
